Interview | Kavin: Playing to Preserve — Gen Z’s Twist on Language Revitalization

In today’s Rising Voices Language Blog, we speak with Kavin K, a freshman from Rice University. Kavin is a youth creator who built SavingUbykh, an interactive website, and a vocabulary and grammar game dedicated to teaching and preserving the Ubykh script. Once spoken along the Black Sea, Ubykh lost its last fluent speaker in 1992 — but through creativity and technology, Kavin is bringing its sounds and grammar back to life for a new generation.
